Ancient, rotting texts were everywhere; water damaged books with broken spines were open on every flat surface and yellowed scrolls were unfurled over the backs of chairs. The room was permeated with a moldy smell of rotting paper in the Patriarch’s main study in the Temple of Pelor.

Having been summoned by the Cleric Tilith, Starlight and Alina stood in the study as the Patriarch poured over a particular map, absentmindedly addressing them at last.

Patriarch (without looking up): I have gone over the books recovered from the ruined tower. Much has been lost, of course, but that which survives . . .
Circe: You needed me?

Circe, a resident Cleric of the Temple of Pelor entered the study.

Aleena Red Box Larry ElmoreTess’ background for her Cleric, Circe, was short and straight forward. A wood elf from the Rieuwood forest, follower of Ehlonna. She devoted herself to Pelor when Tilith of Eastbrook saved her family. She now lives in the Temple in Eastbrook under the study of Tilith.

Tilith and Circe had previously been assigned to purge the ghoul from the recently discovered ruined tower, if it still remained, and delegated to recover anything that may have been overlooked in the tower’s library. Having brought back a few more ancient manuscripts, the Patriarch had located the Tomb of Alaxis, the resting place for a mage of legend.

Alaxis once enslaved minotaurs to build his towers throughout the northern portion of the Sunndi; although his necromancy paled in the shadow of Acererak, his tales were still told over the lighted hearth in the Winter Wolf tavern.

In lieu of their previous assistance, the Patriarch requested that Starlight and Alina seek the tomb out. Circe would be assigned by the Temple to accompany them.

So to the Tomb of Alaxis it was, but before they went anywhere, they wanted to go shopping.
