Licking their wounds the girls went back to the domed chamber to take the final unexplored passage. It lead to another 10×30 foot hall and at the end was another wooden door bound in iron.

Beyond the door lay another room with no visible doors leading out. The room was ankle deep in bones. The girls expected to see three large piles with cow skulls resting on their tops. There were no large piles with cow skulls.

Sue: Good. The last two minotaur skeletons seemed tougher than the first.

The air seemed to shimmer from the back left corner of the chamber as if a bit of fog was present. Circe raised her torch to bring more light to what it might be.

As the girls suspected, originally there were a set of three guardian minotaur skeletons in this room. However they had been defeated long ago by what currently resided in the room.

Of note, there were kobolds living in the tomb complex, although they did not visit this chamber. However, they do use it to dump their trash, throwing their garbage out the end of a small passage created by a crack in the wall that was the perfect size for their small stature.

That crack was currently behind the gelatinous cube revealed to the party when Circe raised her torch.

Kay: I fire an arrow at it!
Tess: Wait!

The cleric reached for the halfling, too late, as the thief let fly two arrows that easily found its mark in an ooze that was 10 feet on a side.

With the element of surprise gone, the gelatinous cube won initiative.

The cube lurched forward in the direction of fire, advancing towards the origin of the arrows, looming before the halfling.

DM (@ Kay): Save versus Paralyzation.

Success.

Circe yanked Starlight back into the hall, slamming the iron bound door.

Tess: What the hell?
Sue: You are retarded.
Kay: I don’t think it’s friendly.
DM: Well, you did shoot first.
Kay: Like we’d be best friends if I didn’t.
DM: Fair enough.
Sue: It’s aware of us now, though.
Tess: You’re going to end up dead. I won’t always be there to save you.

The three of them made their way back into the domed chamber to figure out their next move.
