Does it bother me that people play(ed) 3E? Moved on to Pathfinder? Or took up the mantle of 4E? What about the people who started with 4E? Do I secretly rage inside? Wag my finger?
I don’t care what games you play in your house. You’re having fun, right? We speak different languages and that’s okay.
I might poke fun at you for playing Palladium (Kevin Siembieda is a fucking nut!) or GURPS (what’s wrong with those guys, amirite?), but I’m not being serious (4E tears are so delicious).
It would certainly benefit WotC if everyone spoke the same language, so we would all suck on the same witch tit.
Yet, WotC created this huge division – the D&D Tower of Babel – with just their editions. That’s really funny to me.
You don’t need WotC. WotC needs you.
It’s poetic they made the same mistake of a fallen god.
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
- Genesis 11:5-8
10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
- 1 Corinthians 1:10
